29th Annual Strawberry Festival

Located in the streets of downtown Billings, the Strawberry Festival is a long-time cherished community event that opens the summer season. In the heart of our urban center, experience rich diversity in arts and crafts, the scents of food-truck fare from Asian to BBQ , live street entertainment, over 90 merchants, live street entertainment, and a 60 foot long strawberry shortcake create by the Chefs and Cooks Association of Montana. With an interactive children’s area including free crafts and activities for all ages, this even draws people throughout the northwest region to Downtown Billings under Skypoint at 2nd Ave N. and Broadway.

Alumni Powwow Breakfast & Fashion Show

Join the MSU Billings Alumni Association for breakfast and a fashion show during the annual powwow weekend in Billings, MT! Thanks to our sponsor, Kills Thunder, Inc., this event is free and open to the public. Check out student art on display and connect with our Native alumni as part of the powwow activities.

2nd Annual Spring Art Challenge

COVID 19 UPDATE: Safety and the health of our artists and customers are our number one priority. So starting [March 17] we will remain closed for two weeks [March 31] and we will reassess then. We are rescheduling the Spring Art Challenge until the June Art Walk so we have extended the deadline until May 23. Stay safe everyone and we will see everyone again soon.

The Members of Sandstone Gallery Artist Co-op invite you to join in celebrating the arrival of Spring by giving everyone an opportunity to show their creativity in their gallery at the April ArtWalk on Friday, April 3, 2020 5pm – 9pm.

How to Participate as an Artist:

  • Stop into the Sandstone Gallery @ 2913 2nd Ave N, Downtown Billings, to pick up your entry packet & canvas!
  • Entry fee is $10 and includes your 5×7 canvas. You may purchase as many entries as you would like.
  • Everyone is welcome to enter! There are no age restrictions.
  • Bring your imagination and creativity to life using any medium/materials you choose on the canvas supplied. Make sure the canvas can be hung on the wall.
  • Make sure you return your canvas to the gallery by Saturday, March 21st, 2020. No late entries will be accepted.
  • Your artwork will be included in the April Artwalk.
  • Awards will be given in different categories (including a children’s category) by Sandstone Gallery Members at the April Artwalk.
  • A People’s Choice Award will be recognized during the June Artwalk. Voting for the People’s Choice Award will start at the April Artwalk and end on May 29th.
  • Your artwork will be on display in our gallery for two months, April through May.
  • Encourage your friends and family to pick up a canvas and make art with you! You can tell everyone your art is on display at Sandstone Gallery in downtown Billings!
  • ArtWalk brings many people to downtown Billings. Your work will be seen by 100’s who appreciate the arts!
  • You may have your art for sale or for display only. Any sales are subject to a 30% commission to the gallery so price it accordingly (you get 70% of the sales price).
  • Artwork must be picked up the last week of May, the 26th thru the 30th.

In the heart of our urban center, experience rich diversity in arts and crafts, fresh produce and strawberries, the scents of food-truck fare from Asian to BBQ , live street entertainment, and a 60′ strawberry shortcake created by the Chefs and Cooks of Montana. With an interactive children’s area including free crafts and activities for all ages, this draws people throughout the northwest region to Downtown Billings under Skypoint at 2nd Ave N. and Broadway.

We’re always looking for good volunteers!

We need help with Vendor Check-In in the morning from 5-7am and DBA Info Booth attendants throughout the day, in two hour shifts from 8am-4pm.

We are also looking for dynamic children’s organizations who would like to sponsor the Kids Area of the Strawberry Festival by bringing out a team of representatives to help host kids’ crafts and fun activities.
