Mountain Grass Unit // Summer Tour 2025

Please join us for an evening with Mountain Grass Unit on Tuesday, August 5th in the Pub Station Taproom.
MOUNTAIN GRASS UNIT

Mountain Grass Unit, from Birmingham, Alabama, is a young quartet redefining bluegrass with a fresh narrative. Comprised of Drury Anderson (mandolin, vocals), Luke Black (guitar, vocals), Josiah Nelson (fiddle, vocals), and Sam Wilson (bass, vocals), they blend tradition with bold exploration. Their journey began with a shared musical passion, forming a sound that merges bluegrass with country, jazz, funk, rock, and metal influences. Their debut EP, “Runnin’ From Trouble,” released in 2024, showcases their original music and inventive covers, inspired by legends like Tony Rice and Billy Strings.

Recorded at Nashville’s Hartland Studios, and produced by Mike Harris (Old Crow Medicine Show), the EP captures their live energy. The leading single, “Hey Mama,” explores life’s transitions with inquisitive lyrics, while “Cicada Song” and “Smugglin’” highlight their funk and traditional sides.

2024 marked a turning point with performances at Renewal, DelFest and WinterWondergrass, broadening their audience and deepening their musical exploration. With plans for extensive touring, festival sets, and new music, Mountain Grass Unit is ready to share their luminous sound with the world, each performance a new chapter in their unfolding story.

Scotty McCreery

The Pub Station presents Scotty McCreery at Alberta Bair Theater on Saturday, August 2.

About Scotty McCreery:
Scotty McCreery has been a household name for nearly half his life, ever since making history in 2011 as both the first country artist and the youngest male artist of any genre to debut his first studio album, the Platinum-certified Clear as Day, at No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard Top 200 Albums chart. With his latest album Rise & Fall, featuring his sixth No. 1 single “Cab in a Solo,” current single “Fall of Summer,” and 11 additional tracks, McCreery explores classic themes of heartbreak, rowdy nights, nostalgia, faith, newfound joy, fatherhood, and enduring love, and through it all, felt comfortable being himself, resulting in a project full of electrified twang, rich baritone vocals and insightful storytelling. The 31-year-old has sold more than 4 million albums and achieved 6 No.1 hits: the recent “Cab in a Solo,” the RIAA Platinum-certified “Damn Strait,” the RIAA Gold certified “You Time,” the RIAA Gold certified “In Between,” the RIAA Platinum certified “This is It,” and the RIAA Triple Platinum certified “Five More Minutes.”

The North Carolina native has earned one Triple Platinum, five Platinum and four Gold singles; one Platinum and two Gold albums; won the 10th season of “American Idol” in 2011 at age 17; was named the ACM New Artist of the Year in 2011; won two CMT Music Awards, the first for Breakthrough Video of the Year (“The Trouble with Girls”) in 2012, and the second for Digital-First Performance of the Year (‘It Matters to Her’ from “CMT Stages”) in 2024; and BMI Awards for writing One of the Top 50 Country Songs of the Year five times (in 2015 for ‘See You Tonight’, in 2018 for “Five More Minutes,” in 2019 for “This is It,” in 2021 for “In Between,” and in 2022 for “You Time”). He was awarded Pandora Billionaire status in 2021 in recognition of his music achieving more than one billion streams on Pandora. His song “Five More Minutes” inspired two popular holiday movies which aired on the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Network: Five More Minutes in 2021 and Five More Minutes: Moments Like These in 2022. He released his first book Go Big or Go Home: The Journey Toward the Dream in 2016. Last year McCreery was inducted into the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame. Earlier this year, he was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry by Josh Turner and Randy Travis, after being invited late last year by Garth Brooks. Dinosaur Jr. + Snail Mail with special guest Easy Action

Please join us for Dinosaur Jr. + Snail Mail with special guest, Easy Action on Saturday August 2nd in the Pub Station Ballroom.
DINOSAUR JR.
Dinosaur Jr. was founded in 1984 and the group emerged among the most highly regarded in alternative rock. By reintroducing volume and attack in his songs, Mascis shed the strict limitations of early 1980s hardcore, becoming an influence on the burgeoning grunge movement. Mascis’ body of work continues to inspire a generation of guitar players and songwriters today.
When the original line up of Mascis, Lou Barlow on bass and drummer Murph re-formed in 2005 for select live dates it was apparent that the years apart had not eroded any of their vitality. Restoring the sound established by the opening hat-trick gambit of Dinosaur, You’re Living All Over Me, and Bug, 2007’s Beyond continued the band’s march into rock greatness by making old ears smile and new ears bleed afresh. The original lineup has now released five studio albums since their reunion, most recently 2021’s “Sweep It Into Space” on Jagjaguwar Records.
SNAIL MAIL
On her 2018 debut album Lush, seventeen-year-old Lindsey Jordan sang “I’m in full control / I’m not lost / Even when it’s love / Even when it’s not”. Her natural ability to be many things at once resonated with a lot of people. The contradiction of confidence and vulnerability, power and delicacy, had the impact of a wrecking ball when put to tape. It was an impressive and unequivocal career-making moment for Jordan.
On Valentine, her sophomore album out November 5th 2021 on Matador, Lindsey solidifies and defines this trajectory in a blaze of glory. In 10 songs, written over 2019-2020 by Jordan alone, we are taken on an adrenalizing odyssey of genuine originality in an era in which “indie” music has been reduced to gentle, homogenous pop composed mostly by ghost writers. Made with careful precision, Valentine shows an artist who has chosen to take her time. The reference points are broad and psychically stirring, while the lyrics build masterfully on the foundation set by Jordan’s first record to deliver a deeper understanding of heartbreak.
EASY ACTION
Easy Action is a Detroit rock band comprised of seasoned musicians, each with an impressive musical legacy. The current lineup includes John Brannon on lead vocals, Harold Richardson on guitar, Ron Sakowski on bass guitar, and John Lehl on drums. John Brannon, the lead vocalist, is a legendary figure in the Detroit music scene, known for his intense vocals and uncompromising stage presence. With a rich musical heritage from Detroit, Brannon gained prominence as the frontman for influential bands like Negative Approach and Laughing Hyenas, leaving an indelible mark on punk and rock genres.

AJ Lee & Blue Summit

AJ Lee & Blue Summit are an award-winning, energetic, charming, and technically jaw-dropping band quickly rising on the national roots music scene. Based in Santa Cruz, California, the group met as teenagers, picking and jamming together as kids at local bluegrass festivals until one day, they decided they would be a band.
Currently made up of AJ Lee on mandolin, fiddler Jan Purat, and guitarists Scott Gates and Sullivan Tuttle, the band carries that youthful, festival-parking-lot energy with them still today, but at the same time there’s a genuine ease and confidence to their music making. As they ready their third studio album, City of Glass – their first label release, out July 19th via Signature Sounds – their product feels mature and fully realized, while deep in the Blue Summit pocket.
City of Glass is a slow burn album, remarkable when considered alongside records released by their peers in recent years. Lee & Blue Summit seem unconcerned with mimicking or emulating other successful groups in their scenes. Instead, they’re most interested in discovering themselves, their own music, and sonics and textures truly their own. And, they’re most interested in doing so with their musical and Californian communities.
City of Glass, as a result, is an album that’s just as much country soul and gritty, bluesy Americana as it is rock club and festival-ready string band fare, all framed through a California folk lens while clearly primed for a much wider audience.
AJ Lee & Blue Summit are an exemplary band so unconcerned with being remembered, with being enshrined, that they have gone about making a set of songs that will surely be held onto and cherished forever. City of Glass may one day crumble, but this music will never fade away.

An Evening with Ritch Henderson and Danno Simpson

Please join us for an evening with Ritch Henderson and Danno Simpson in the Pub Station Taproom on Saturday February, 22nd. Ritch and Danno will trade tunes and stories, making for a laid-back, unforgettable night! This concert is brought to you by the Western Grunge Tapedeck Podcast.

RITCH HENDERSON:
Ritch Henderson is a seasoned songwriter, musician, and performing artist hailing from the poverty-stricken hills of Northern Alabama; his “lived-in” lyrics invoke an uncanny sense of familiarity, all the while challenging the status quo. Combining his intellectual lyrical prowess with his raw, soulful voice, Ritch has managed to make something as traditional as “Rock & Roll” feel brand new. As for the members in his band, they are all technically trained session musicians from Nashville, TN, who have bought into the vision of their Berklee-educated leader. Ritch Henderson & The Grandiose Delusion deliver one of the most passionate, well-rounded live shows in the independent touring scene today.
Ritch has performed with the likes of 49 Winchester, Drayton Farley, Pony Bradshaw, Nolan Taylor, John R. Miller, Blackberry Smoke, Whiskey Meyers, Alabama, The Marshall Tucker Band, The Steel Woods, The Wooks, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Hank Williams Jr., Reckless Kelly, Alex Williams, The Buffalo Wabs, John R. Miller, Arlo McKinley, and The Charlie Daniels Band. In addition to his touring success, Ritch’s music was featured on the album “Just Behind The Creek,” which peaked at #11 on Billboard’s Bluegrass charts.
DANNO SIMPSON:
Danno Simpson brings his raw, roots-driven sound and leaves it all on the stage. From his honest lyrics to his authentic blend of Country, Folk, Rock & Roll and Blues, Danno’s music tells vivid stories of struggle, resilience, and hope. Known for songs like “Honest Work” and “Pearly Gates,” Danno has quickly become a leading voice in the growing Alt-Country & Americana scene. Don’t miss this rising artist as he shares his powerful storytelling and hard-won experiences with the crowd. Danno has shared the stage and toured nationally with acts such as The Steelwoods, Dylan Gossett, Red Clay Strays, 49 Winchester, Drayton Farley, Randy Rogers Band, and more.
