Billings Public Library is excited to host members with the Billings Community Orchestra for a spring concert under the oculus! Enjoy the music in the air as a 10-piece ensemble performs selections from Tchaikovsky, Strauss, Handel, Bach, Beethoven, as well as a number of folk dances.
Sandstone Gallery Art Walk
For the April ArtWalk, Sandstone Gallery will showcase beautiful watercolors on canvas by Dick Cottrill, as well as acrylic and watercolor paintings and urban sketches by John Kennedy. Our 2025 Spring Art Challenge features 6 x 8 miniature masterpieces created by various artists, available for purchase. The Billings Art Association will highlight the work of Lindsey Huntley and Dorene Amber for the months of April and May.
Join us for an artists’ reception with light refreshments from 5-9 PM. Many of our 14 featured artists will be present to display their work and discuss their artistic process. We invite you to come enjoy a lively evening in downtown Billings!

Sandstone Gallery is proud to showcase the stunning alcohol ink and watercolor paintings of Lana Bittner and the beautiful acrylic, oil, and charcoal pieces of Teresa Brown! Our special event in the guest gallery is Billings Arts Association’s (BAA) Miniature Show. Over 20 BAA artists will show up to four pieces each, awards will be presented at ArtWalk. We are also featuring two BAA artists: Edda Freestone and LaVonne Girardin.
Join our March 7th event for an Artists’ Reception with light refreshments from 5-9 PM. You’ll have the chance to meet many of our 14 member artists, learn about their creative processes, and discover the inspiration behind their work. Everything in our gallery is Made in Montana! WinterFair at the Yellowstone Art Museum
The YAM is looking forward to hosting WinterFair, our annual Winter Arts and Craft Market, at the museum from 11 AM to 8 PM on Friday, December 6th, 2024. WinterFair will coincide with the annual Holiday Stroll and December ArtWalk in downtown Billings from 4 – 8 PM. WinterFair is a great opportunity for visitors to start their holiday shopping locally with one-of-a-kind gifts that directly support our community.
All participating artists’ goods are handmade, and range from fine art, fiber work, jewelry, specialty foods and body products, ceramics, clothing and more. The Yellowstone Art Museum will also offer a full day of festive performances, activities for visitors of all ages, and seasonal refreshments. The YAM is thrilled to once again be a stop on the Holiday Stroll Trolly rout! The Trolly will transport and pick up guests at the YAM from 5 – 8 PM. Kick off your holiday season locally with the YAM.

SpringFest
On Saturday, June 1st, the Moss Mansion welcomes you to the 35th annual SpringFest – a spectacular art and craft festival, all beautifully presented on the museum’s lawn. SpringFest delivers a day of shopping, live music, delicious food and fun activities for kids of all ages. Featuring over 50 juried artists and thousands of unique treasures, it’s the perfect place to shop, relax and connect with friends while enjoying one of Montana’s best historic places.
The day begins with a delicious pancake breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Then from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. shoppers will delight as they explore works of art and fine crafts presented by the artists. This year’s festival features a wide variety of handmade art in mediums such as jewelry, photography, clothing/textiles, leather, wood, pottery/clay, paintings and prints, and more.
A selection of foods including tacos and burgers, plus beverages including mimosas, Bloody Marys, wine and locally brewed beer are on hand to fuel your day of shopping. And, for anyone with a sweet tooth, there’s kettle corn, homemade baked goods and ice cream!
Watch artists demonstrate their work or take in the sights and sounds of performers at three stages.
Little ones will also find fun things to do in the children’s area complete with games, face painting, sno-cones and cotton candy.
Admission to SpringFest is free! The Moss Mansion and Gift Shop, located at 914 Division St., Billings, MT, will be open for self-guided tours from 10am – 4pm at regular tour prices.
All proceeds from artist booth fees, donation jars and food and drink sales benefit Moss Mansion’s operations and ongoing preservation projects.
