The Billings Public Library is excited to announce the launch of its annual Summer Reading Program on June 4th! This year’s theme, “Adventure Begins at Your Library,” invites readers of all ages to embark on a summer filled with exciting events, enriching activities, and the chance to win fantastic prizes by logging their reading.

“The Summer Reading Program is a fantastic opportunity to foster a love for reading and provide access to unique programs for all ages,” said Kelsie Rubich, Assistant Library Director. “‘Adventure Begins at Your Library’ highlights our extensive range of programs and resources, encouraging everyone to connect, learn, and grow this summer.”

Children and families

Children and their families can look forward to a summer full of opportunities for learning, creativity, and fun. Our engaging programs include story times, arts and crafts workshops, and hands-on activities. Don’t miss some of our other events like the Big Machine Petting Zoo, Bike Rodeo, and a wide variety of fantastic programs presented by community partners like Zoo Montana, Mustangs Baseball, Adventure Scuba, and more!


Teens

Teens will find a welcoming and inspiring space at the library to connect with peers and participate in workshops and special events that spark creativity and broaden their horizons. From craft clubs to gaming sessions, there’s something for every teen to enjoy.


Adults

Adults are also encouraged to participate in the Summer Reading Program, which has events tailored just for them. These include book groups, artist presentations, skateboard clinics, MET Transit travel training, and other unique events that stimulate creativity, thought, and discussion.


Bike Library and Bookmobile

The Bike Library makes weekly stops at various outdoor locations in Billings and community events, where library staff host programs, distribute free books, and share information about library services. Weekly events include “Tour de Downtown” every Tuesday at 10 AM to explore local businesses and “CRAFT Club” for Teens every Tuesday at 2 PM at Pioneer Park. Additional events include “Moms in Motion!” every Wednesday at 10:30 AM at North Park, “Community Connections” every Thursday at 11 AM, and “Stethoscopes & Stories” every Friday at 2 PM at the Children’s Clinic Library Express Locker (3401 Ave E). Don’t miss the Bookmobile at Kids Fun Day on June 8th at Zoo Montana and the North Park Reopening on June 22nd .
