The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim
April 11 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm

We are celebrating another Art House staff member’s birthday at the historic Babcock Theatre with a film of their choosing! This time, our shift lead, Timothy Tanzosh, is another year older, and he is choosing to extend March’s Lord of the Rings celebration with a special screening of Kenji Kamiyama’s animated fantasy epic, THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE WAR OF THE ROHIRRIM! Produced by Peter Jackson and directed by the man behind Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, THE WAR OF THE ROHIRRIM is another adaptation of one of Tolkien’s lore entries into his dense world of Middle Earth. Excellently animated and full visually spectacular magic and battles, this is the perfect fantasy film to come and see if you aren’t quite ready to let go of the one series to rule them all!
Taking place about 200 years before the events of The Lord of the Rings, THE WAR OF THE ROHIRRIM covers the titular event as a treacherous feud results in one of Middle Earth’s largest battles. When Wulf, a clever and traitorous lord of Rohan seeks vengeance for the death of his father by leading a deadly attack with the intent of overthrowing the kingdom, he forces Helm Hammerhand, the King of Rohan, and his people to make a tense last stand against Wulf’s soldiers within the ancient stronghold of the Hornburg!
If you need one more blast of Middle Earthen action before it goes away, you don’t want to miss this one- come check it out, and make sure to Wish Timothy a happy birthday!
