Saturday, October 9th, 2021 is Downtown Billings’ 17th Annual Harvest Fest on the streets below Skypoint from 9am to 4pm.
This Fall festival is free for the community to attend and takes place the weekend after the Yellowstone Valley Farmers’ Market season comes to a close. Harvest Fest celebrates the changing of the seasons with a rich diversity of arts and crafts, mums, pumpkins, face painting, balloon twisting, baked goods, and the final offerings of fresh produce.
Festival attendees can enjoy live entertainment all day long under Skypoint at Broadway and 2nd Avenue. The Montana Brewing Company, long time co-host of the festival, will host their Oktoberfest beer garden on Broadway in front of their restaurant. Their beer garden will include; over 10 seasonal and pumpkin beers, their annual stein holding contest, and corn hole. The Montana Audubon Center, a newcomer to the festival, is setting up a temporary pop-up-prairie installation right on the streets of downtown for the community to enjoy. Wise Wonders Science & Discovery Museum will host the Kids Zone within the festival closure. The Kids Zone is a space where families with younger kids can participate in free kid-friendly activities. Free mini-pumpkins will be available at the Kids Zone while supplies last. The four-person bungee trampoline from Montana Premier Entertainment returns to the festival this year, jumps will be available for anyone from 30lb to 220lbs to experience. The local growers at Garden Avenue Greenhouse, can be found near Skpoint with a variety of fall plants, pumpkins, fall decorations, and a gorgeous display of mums for sale. Teams from the Yellowstone Valley Boys & Girls Ranch will have Scarecrows on display from their Upcycled Scarecrow Contest. They invite the community to come and vote for their favorite scarecrow contest submission to help choose the winning team.
For the early birds who don’t want to wait until Harvest Fest begins at 9:00 am, Rock Creek Coffee Roasters will open as early as 6:00 am on the morning of the Festival and the Billings Heights Lions club will be set up for their pancake breakfast fundraiser beginning at 8:00 am. The Billings Heights Lions Club’s pancake breakfast fundraiser will be located at the festival’s 2nd Ave N. & N. 30th Street entrance, just across the street from Sandstone Gallery.
