Following our February 6th screening of BEFORE SUNRISE, we will be playing Linklater’s 2004 sequel to his acclaimed romantic drama, BEFORE SUNSET, Thursday, February 13! A profound story of the immortality of true love through the passage of time, BEFORE SUNSET is a powerfully honest romance that truthfully portrays the human desire to correct missed opportunities of the past in order to let love thrive! Critically speaking, some find SUNSET even more moving than SUNRISE- I guess that means you’ll just have to watch them both, huh?
Nine years after the events of BEFORE SUNRISE, Jesse travels across Europe giving readings from a book he wrote, inspired by the night he spent with Celine in Vienna. After a reading in Paris, Celine finds Jesse, and the two spend another day together before Jesse has to leave for a flight. Both of them are in relationships now, and Jesse has a son, but as their strong feelings for one another resurface, the two of them confess a longing for more.
