A River Runs Through It
April 6 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm
$9
April 6th, is a day locally recognized for Montana pride (4/06, get it??), and we will be celebrating our glorious state at the historic Babcock Theatre with a special screening of Robert Redford’s beautiful 1992 film A RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT! Adapting author Norman Maclean’s semi-autobiographical story of the same name, this film is a wonderfully scenic contemplation on life, memory, family, and existing in the past and the future. Shot on location in Montana, A RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT is an emotional, eye catching marvel that has been celebrated for decades as a striking encapsulation of the placid, natural beauty of the Treasure State!
Brothers Paul and Norman Maclean, two sons of a minister, live a peaceful, idyllic life in rural Missoula, Montana towards the beginning of the 20th century, often spending most of their time fly-fishing together at the Blackfoot River. The boys eventually part when Norman moves east to attend college, leaving Paul to follow a more rebellious path by himself. When Norman returns and the brothers are reunited, they resume their fishing outings, leading them to discuss their lives up to that point and where they would hope to go from here.
