Trick or Treat

Downtown Trick-or-Treat, is hosted by the Downtown Billings Alliance, and has been a popular and safe Halloween alternative for the Billings’ community for 19 years.  This free community event brings thousands of children in costume downtown to trick or treat at over 60 participating businesses that offer candy, healthy treats, and unique Halloween themes or activities.

This fun event has grown over the years and has become a popular event for day cares, schools, and families.

The Downtown Billings Alliance office at 116 N 29th St., Suite A operates as headquarters for the event and provides maps of the route and trick or treat bags for the children.

All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Submit your participation details

  • The DBA will offer Trick or Treat bags to the children and families at their office along with a printed list of participating locations.
  • Participating business’s are responsible for providing candy for their business. 2000 pieces of candy is the suggested minimum.
  • If you would like 2 helium balloons to put outside your business to be used as a guide for the Trick or Treaters, please pick them up at the DBA office between 10am – 12pm on Friday, October 30th.

Important Note: To have your business location listed on printed list of participating locations you must have your application submitted before Oct 28th. All participating locations will be listed on the online accessible google map.

  • Cross the street at corners, using traffic signals and crosswalks.
  • Put electronic devices down, keep heads up and walk, don’t run.
  • Teach children to make eye contact with drivers before crossing in front of them
  • Always walk on sidewalks.
  • Watch for cars that are turning or backing up.
  • Teach children to never dart out into the street or cross between parked cars.
  • Join kids under age for trick-or-treating.
  • If kids are mature enough to be out without supervision, tell them to stick to familiar areas that are well lit and trick-or-treat in groups.

29th Annual Strawberry Festival

Located in the streets of downtown Billings, the Strawberry Festival is a long-time cherished community event that opens the summer season. In the heart of our urban center, experience rich diversity in arts and crafts, the scents of food-truck fare from Asian to BBQ , live street entertainment, over 90 merchants, live street entertainment, and a 60 foot long strawberry shortcake create by the Chefs and Cooks Association of Montana. With an interactive children’s area including free crafts and activities for all ages, this even draws people throughout the northwest region to Downtown Billings under Skypoint at 2nd Ave N. and Broadway.

Trick or Treat

The Downtown Billings Alliance hosts a safe Halloween alternative for children accompanied by a parent or guardian from 12pm-5pm on October 31st. This free community event brings thousands of children in costume downtown to trick or treat at participating businesses that offer candy, healthy treats, and unique Halloween themes or activities. The Downtown Billings Alliance office at 116 N 29th St., Suite A operates as headquarters for the event and provides maps of the route and trick or treat bags for the children. In collaboration with organizations such as YMCA or the Alberta Bair Theater, the DBA facilitates a shuttle, making the route more accessible to the public. In addition to supplying over 5,000 pieces of candy, the DBA also provides balloons and posters to each participating business.

Strawberry Festival

In the heart of our urban center, experience rich diversity in arts and crafts, fresh produce and strawberries, the scents of food-truck fare from Asian to BBQ , live street entertainment, and a 60′ strawberry shortcake created by the Chefs and Cooks of Montana. With an interactive children’s area including free crafts and activities for all ages, this draws people throughout the northwest region to Downtown Billings under Skypoint at 2nd Ave N. and Broadway.

We’re always looking for good volunteers!

We need help with Vendor Check-In in the morning from 5-7am and DBA Info Booth attendants throughout the day, in two hour shifts from 8am-4pm.

We are also looking for dynamic children’s organizations who would like to sponsor the Kids Area of the Strawberry Festival by bringing out a team of representatives to help host kids’ crafts and fun activities.
