29th Annual Strawberry Festival

Located in the streets of downtown Billings, the Strawberry Festival is a long-time cherished community event that opens the summer season. In the heart of our urban center, experience rich diversity in arts and crafts, the scents of food-truck fare from Asian to BBQ, live street entertainment, over 90 merchants, live street entertainment, and a 60-foot long strawberry shortcake create by the Chefs and Cooks Association of Montana. With an interactive children’s area including free crafts and activities for all ages, this event draws people throughout the northwest region to Downtown Billings under Skypoint at 2nd Ave N. and Broadway.

COVID-19 UPDATE: 8/5/2020

The 29th Annual Strawberry Festival, currently scheduled for Sunday, September 13, has officially been cancelled. Unfortunately, the Global COVID-19 pandemic continues to be a public health and safety issue.

The annual festival is coordinated by the Downtown Billings Alliance (DBA), an organization made up of multiple nonprofits that promote and advocate for a vital city center through programmatic and place-making elements like event management, public art, green space development, business development, and downtown beautification projects.

Our mission as a non-profit is to act in the best interest of our downtown business community. We do not want to do anything to make a hard situation harder on the currently open downtown businesses or jeopardize their ability to remain open and operational. Additionally, Montana remains in stage 2 of the Governor’s economic re-opening stages, and stage 2 limits the size of gatherings where physical distancing cannot be maintained throughout. We believe monitoring attendance numbers and physical distancing would be extremely challenging for an event like this. This choice did not come easily however we feel this is the best decision for our downtown community and for the continued efforts to do our part to slow the spread of the virus.

We thank you for your support and understanding.
