About Gratitude In Action Thrift Store
The goal of the GIA thrift store is to help alleviate poverty and improve the lives of families and individuals within our community by providing an affordable place to shop. Offering high quality gently used clothing, furniture, home decor, books, and housewares. It also provides a step up out of homelessness by providing clothing and job skills to men and women in early recovery.
Rescue
We repurpose used and discarded items by reselling through our thrift store. Rescue is defined as to free from confinement, danger, or evil.
Reclaim
Defined as a rescue from an undesirable state and restore to a natural state. This is shown not only through the items we resell, but through the lives of those impacted by volunteering and participating at the store.
Recover
To save from loss and restore to usefulness. To find our identity again. Alcoholism and addiction is a disease of separation. The foundation of a new life in recovery is rigorous honesty, service to others, and personal responsibility.
