The Test of Time: A Chorale Concert
March 5 @ 3:00 pm - March 6 @ 5:00 pm
This concert features works by some of the world’s most renowned composers, from the Renaissance to the present day. Tomás Luis de Victoria represents the height of the Spanish Renaissance with his setting of O magnum mysterium. The range of expressive depth by contemporary American composer Z. Randall Stroope is found in both the charm of The Pasture and the power of The Lamentations of Jeremiah. “How Lovely is Thy Dwelling Place” from Johannes Brahms’ German Requiem is beloved by choirs all over the world. The Chorale and Symphony string and woodwind players present these and other masterworks that speak to the modern soul through enduring meaning and transcendent beauty.
