A Benefit for Spare Change for Real Change
The Purple 5K run continues to grow as it empowers the community to be actively involved in the fight against homelessness, poverty, and addiction in our city. On the morning of April 24, 2022, we will host the 11th annual Purple 5K. This fun run/walk starts and ends on the streets below Skypoint. The route is designed to take participants on a tour of our downtown, the hospital corridor, and surrounding neighborhoods. The 2019 Purple 5K brought nearly 700 participants to our downtown in support of the Spare Change for Real Change grant program. Funds have been used to aid the MAAP (Motivated Addiction Alternative Program) — a collaborative program intended to move people from addiction and cyclical negative behavior through a continuum of assistance and treatment, designed to give people the hope and motivation needed for recovery and transformation.
