Garnering surprisingly high praise among critics in 1999, Galaxy Quest is much more than just a send-up of the Star Trek franchise and its fandom, but a genuine cult classic worthy of its own fanbase. The first (and best) of the film roles Tim Allen took on after the finale of “Home Improvement” casts him as a William Shatner-esque celebrity alongside co-stars Sigourney Weaver and a much-better-than-it-needed-to-be performance from Alan Rickman as they are zapped into a real-life space adventure they’ve only played on TV. Hilarious and fun, Galaxy Quest is among the best in sci-fi comedies!
