Hi friends! This is Lisa Kopanski Harmon and I don't think I have to tell you how much I love my city, especially downtown. For the last 12 years +, it has been my honor to work on behalf of downtown Billings and all the members we serve. It's been a gift to work with the individuals I work with, from the boards, to the committees and commissions, and especially to work with the gracious, gifted, loving, and energetic team that I have the privilege to work with every day. It is a critical time in our city as we look back at how far we've come as a community, and look ahead to the future, making sure that we are poised and ready to grow, and attract and retain the best in all areas of our economy - art and culture, healthcare, education, commerce, agriculture, tourism, and technology to name a few. It's about smart growth and dreaming big, and, yes, the two can co-habitate in Billings, Montana. In fact, they do. So proud of the 276 projects we've been able to facilitate in our districts. I also have the strong belief that we can be a model for other communities, as we have in the past, and arrive at a bright and beautiful future by building one inclusively, making sure that diverse voices are heard, not feared, and that they are welcome at the table, all tables. As I wind down my time downtown, together with our Development Director, Greg Krueger, we put before you a couple of things: #1. Next week, we'll come together as a community and talk about the future of downtown as we build a new strategic plan. You're invited to attend. Join us! It's Wednesday, October 25th, 5:00pm-7:30pm, Historic Billings Depot. #2. There are two job opportunities posted on the Downtown Billings Alliance website, and if you know someone that might fit the bill, let her/him know: http://downtownbillings.com/employment/
P.S. One more thing - you've been my joy. Thank you.
This is your chance to be heard! Join us at the Billings Depot on Oct. 25, and join in the discussion for the future of our city. Forums for the strategic plan will be conducted by Thomas P. Miller and Associates. Voice your ideas of how you think downtown should move forward. There will be food, drinks, and entertainment. Can't wait to see everyone there! Sponsored by DBA Skyline member, Seva Kitchen.
